EdUHK turns 30 and we’re ready to party

The University was founded as The Hong Kong Institute of Education in 1994 by merging five teacher colleges. It was retitled The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) in 2016. This year marks the 30th anniversary of EdUHK’s establishment.

The University has undergone significant developments over the past three decades, with an increasing number of students nurtured, additional programmes introduced, and impactful research and innovative knowledge transfer initiatives developed. It has also served the community through numerous community engagement projects.

At this joyous moment, Professor Li Wai-keung, Dean of FLASS, led the faculty management in congratulating EdUHK on its 30th anniversary. Professor Li said, “EdUHK is committed to nurturing future talent, serving as a beacon of knowledge and an inspiration for innovation. Our education has transformed numerous young lives. We bring about change in society and the world. Happy 30th Anniversary to EdUHK.”

In the past three decades, EdUHK’s transformative education has empowered the lives of many young individuals and left positive changes in society and the world. All faculty administrative staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and alumni joined the faculty management to celebrate the University’s proud achievements during this memorable occasion. Mr Kelvin So Jun-yin is a recipient of Outstanding FLASS Alumni Award 2023/24 from the Department of Science and Environmental Studies.
